Editorial Standards

JTribune’s editorial standards are built around accuracy, independence, fairness, transparency and accountability.

Accuracy and sourcing

Writers are expected to verify factual claims, distinguish confirmed information from allegation or analysis, and attribute material derived from other reporting. Anonymous sourcing should be used only when the information is newsworthy and there is a legitimate reason a source cannot be named.

Independence

Editorial decisions are made independently from advertising and commercial relationships. Sponsored or affiliate-supported material should be labeled so readers can understand the relationship.

Headlines and images

Headlines, thumbnails and social copy should accurately reflect the substance of the underlying story. Images should be credited when required and should not be manipulated in a way that changes the factual meaning of a news event.

Updates and corrections

Material errors are corrected under our Corrections Policy.
